Trick or Treat

Hi Runners,
Only 4 days left until Halloween & all the little Goblins will be out running around Trick or Treating!
What are your plans? Will you be handing out candy? Or wishing you could be a kid again: running up and down the streets filling your bucket w/ candy? I remember that feeling where we could run for hours all night and never get tired until our buckets were so full we had to come inside and dump them!
Marathons are better than Halloween because you get to eat chocolate Gu while you're running and everyone cheers for you, even though you're not in a costume! Then when you cross the finish line a big medal is placed around your neck and you are a Super Hero! The day you run a marathon is a Holiday all to itself and the memories will last you a lifetime.
So, go ahead and eat those mini candy bars this Halloween then contact me and we'll get running!
The count down begins.... the first session kicks off Nov. 1, 2011
Happy Marathoning!

Pick Your Race!

Hi Runners,
I believe the best way to tackle life's hurdles is to train and run a marathon. This might sound far from your mind, but when you set your sights on a goal and pick a place you would like to run, 26pt2 miles becomes a quest of mindless fun and excitement.
Today you can dream about your life and goals you wish to achieve. If a marathon is on your bucket list then I say go for it and contact me! My advice is to go to marathonguide.com and you'll see a calendar for races for the year that will give you endless choices. Look through the races and see which one grabs you!
Here is one I think looks absolutley perfect and bucket list worthy!
March 10, 2012: Catalina Marathon is a once in a lifetime marathon-you'll take a ferry to Catalina and run the winding trails across the Mountainous Island in the middle of the Pacific; rugged, fun, breathtaking and serene! I hear it fills by January because it's so amazing to do.
Life is a race that should be filled with challenges, surprises and rewards! A marathon is a race with many hurdles, and life changing steps. Take a leap and run with it!
Contact me and schedule a free coffee so you can get running,
Helen

Brrrrrrr!

Hi Runners,
It's really cold out there but my theory is it's a great time to break out the old gear and see what you need for the cold months ahead. I'm a huge fan of Breath Thermo Mizuno - If you are in the market for a pair of gloves, long sleeve top or tights you need to check out Breath Thermo by Mizuno. The fabric has thread woven throughout and it has the capability of retaining your body heat once you warm up. The breath thermo thread retains the heat and keeps you warm and comfortable throughout your run. UNBELIEVABLE-you'll never miss a run due to the cold again.
Breath Thermo Mizuno is at Garry Gribbles Running Store-go check it out!
Fall and winter are fantastic training seasons for your 26pt2 Bucket List Marathon!
Contact me and I'll motivate you to start and finish!

Running in the cold....

Hi Runner's,
It's getting cold out and today's run for me was perfect!!! Why??? Because I was dressed right and went to the trails to enjoy the cool Fall season and embraced this weather!!
If you want to learn the best way to dress for the coming cold then check in with me and let's talk.
26pt2 Bucket List is all about running 365 days a year and knowing how to layer and dress to enjoy every mile.
I always suggest to dress like it's 20 degrees warmer after you've warmed up 10 min. into your run.
So, today was low 50's w/ clouds and a cold wind! Is that really like 70 degree's ?
You bet it is! I wore arm sleeves w/ a dri fit short sleeve top, shorts, compression sleeves for my calves and trail shoes. I ran the trail for 10 min and was ready to peel off my arm sleeves and the rest stayed on! I was perfect the rest of the trail run- the compression socks were enough to keep my calves warm and the upper body was perfect in short sleeves!
Happy trails and come join me~
